As Charles and I sipped tea in the library overlooking my vineyards this morning, we discussed the upcoming publication. "I love a good hardcover book," I said.
"I never would have guessed," Charles agreed, gesturing to the expansive library.
"Perhaps we should offer a hard-backed book as a reward?"
Charles considered this. "Would it include the same information as the regular zine?"
"Yes, I think so."
"Let's do it."
In these final hours of the campaign for publication, we made an update. If you would like to update your pledge to include a small, hard-backed copy of the zine, that option is now available. Again, we thank you for your incredible support.

In the blink of an eye, more than 120 of you gathered. Charles and I cheered aloud at your support. And there's another benefit to your presence: The vault has unlocked. The zine now includes settings for Fortunes: The Seance, Fortunes: Village of Secrets, and Fortunes: The Fairy Garden.
After several glasses of brandy and a good deal of bickering, Charles and I also decided on the next goal for the project. If we can gather 324 backers, we will host an online storytelling event with Fortunes: The Tarot Card Storytelling Game.
We've done one of these events before, back when it was possible to meet in a secret room behind a bookcase in a small shop in Chicago. This new event would instead take place in a not-so-secret online room, publically available for anyone who knew to look for it.
Again, Charles and I would like to thank you for your support. We are eager to share our publication, and we are equally excited to hear your stories.

During our morning constitutional within the abandoned tunnels beneath my mansion, Charles and I again discussed this project. Because of your interest, and because we too are interested, we have come to a conclusion. We are ready to expand the scope of the Fortunes game zine. The current issue already includes the game's ruleset plus a unique setting called The Seance. The zine currently sets your stories in 19th-century London during the rise of the city's spiritualist movement.
However, if we hit 108 backers, the zine will also include setting and prompt sets for Fortunes: Village of Secrets and Fortunes: The Fairy Garden. Once we reach this goal, these additional playsets will be included at no extra cost as part of the original zine.
The most inquisitive amongst you might wonder, what are these new settings? To you, we would like to introduce the following:
Fortunes: Village of Secrets
It's peaceful in our secluded town. Not many people visit, and not many people leave. That might have something to do with the temperament of the citizens. So many of us have incredible secrets. This theme includes a full list of story prompts to inspire psychological horror stories.
Fortunes: The Fairy Garden
Dance alone when you find yourself in a circle of mushrooms. Never stare into the darkness of an overgrown forest path. Choose your words wisely. In the fairy garden, the rules are simple, and the contracts are eternal. This theme includes a full list of story prompts to inspire fantastical stories in a natural environment.
